The three-photo standard

Never make an accept/reject decision on fewer than three photos. One photo tells you nothing about consistency. Two photos may show the same lucky angle. Three photos from different angles — front, detail, packaging — is the minimum viable input for a real decision.

The six defect axes

Objective decisions require categorized inputs. Score every QC review against these six axes:

- Structural. Stitching, seam alignment, panel joins.
- Print / embroidery. Sharpness, alignment, color accuracy.
- Material. Weave, weight, drape in the photo.
- Hardware. Zippers, buttons, buckles, eyelets.
- Trim. Labels, tags, patches, drawstring caps.
- Finish. Glue residue, loose threads, packaging condition.

The reject thresholds

Simple rule: one yellow flag on any axis is recoverable — request an additional photo. Two yellows on one axis, or any single red flag, is a reject. Do not rationalize. Sellers reissue calmly-worded rejections without friction; you lose nothing but a few extra days.

What separates a useful QC photo

- Natural light or 5000K LED lighting.
- Neutral background so color drift is visible.
- Scale reference (a coin, a ruler) in at least one shot.
- Multiple angles rather than repeats of the same view.

Why the finder matters more than the listing
‘
A brilliant Acbuy spreadsheet listing with poor QC coverage is worse than an average listing with excellent QC coverage. Community photos are ground truth. If a listing has no community QC and you would be the first buyer — proceed carefully, or wait a week for someone else to go first.
